The Joyful Bloomers Garden Club held their monthly meeting on September 8 at a pavilion near Lake Emily in Renziehausen Park in McKeesport.  Sally Buchleitner gave a report on the crow and Andrea Rice gave an interesting report on butterflies. Ruth Carroll and Betty Lucot attended the first meeting of the District VII 2023 GCFP Convention to be held at the Double Tree in Monroeville.  Our club will be responsible for Ways and Means.

Orders are being taken starting October 1 for the Donora Public Library’s annual cashew sale. This yearly offering helps raise much-needed funds for the continued operation of the library.

A Fall Fantasy Dance sponsored by the Carroll Township Volunteer Fire Company will be held at the Carroll Township Social Center on Saturday, October 9 from 7:00 – 10:00pm.  The DJ is Ralph Trilli.  Beverages and food will be available for purchase.  Tickets are $10 and they can be purchased either early or at the door.  For tickets and more information call 724-379-5050.

St. John the Baptist Church in Uniontown, will hold the 39th Annual Carpatho-Rusyn Celebration on Sunday, October 31.   The festival will be held in the Parish Social Hall and parking lot from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. or until sold out.  Divine Liturgy for the day will be 9:00 a.m.
