The Joyful Bloomers Garden Club held their monthly meeting on September 8 at a pavilion near Lake Emily in Renziehausen Park in McKeesport.  Sally Buchleitner gave a report on the crow and Andrea Rice gave an interesting report on butterflies. Ruth Carroll and Betty Lucot attended the first meeting of the District VII 2023 GCFP Convention to be held at the Double Tree in Monroeville.  Our club will be responsible for Ways and Means.

Ann Stronberg (our representative to the Confederation of McKeesport District Womens Club), asked for suggestions on how to spend the grant money we recieved. One of our clubs continuing projects is restoring a court yard at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport for the enjoyment of the residents and staff. Our club also participates in a program that makes and distributes baby dolls for children who find themselves at McKeesport Hospital for one reason or another.

Several of our members attended the District VII Annual Meeting at Jadens II in Monroeville.  Annual awards were given. There was a buffet lunch and the program was Gold Medal Winning Gardens of the Chelsea Flower Show.  The Joyful Bloomers participated in the Elizabeth Township Historical Societys Log Cabin day on September 25.
