The RJ Sokol Memorial Golf Outing was held on August 21 at the Madison Golf Course.  146 Golfers attended on a beautiful, warm sunny day.   The event raised $10,000 which was donated to the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department in RJ’s memory to refurbish the old Christmas lights.

Golfers and golf carts line up to take part in the RJ Sokol Memorial Golf Outing.

“RJ would be so proud,” said his wife Lynn Sokol. “This complements the work he has done to make the NBV Community a wonderful enjoyable place to live!”   This holiday season, instead of only having 6 strands of lights in town, it will be shining bright with 26 stands all lit up with the new LED bulbs that will be purchased with the donation.
