CAR CRUISE - Live! Casino Pittsburgh is hosting its fifth annual Live! Casino Car Cruise event on Sunday, Aug. 2, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. in the casino parking lot. This popular event will feature trophies, dash plaques, prizes, music, food trucks and more. Competing categories are Most Unique, People’s Choice and Best in Show. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, as spots are limited and fill up quickly. Because this year’s car cruise will be limited to the first 350 cars, registration is open only to cars from 1960 to 1980. AUGUST FUN FEST - The annual August Fun Fest is set for Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Cedar Creek Park in Rostraver Township, running from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free for all attendees. This year’s festival features a full day of live music, shows, great food, and activities for all ages. Headlining the event is Bayou Blue, a high energy tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival and Linda Ronstadt, performing at the Amphitheater at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy unforgettable classic hits in a relaxed, outdoor setting. The Road Kings Car Club returns with their popular Show Car Cruise, featuring over 300 vehicles, including antiques, hot rods, modifieds, stock cars, and commercials up to 2026 models. This showcase, featured in Hot Rod News, kicks off at 9:00 a.m. Motorcycles are also invited to participate this year! Exotic Edventures brings rescued exotic animals to life in fun, educational presentations at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. These sessions aim to inspire curiosity and conservation in audiences of all ages. For just $5 per person (cash only; ATM on-site), guests can purchase an All Day Activity Pass for unlimited access to carnival rides, a petting zoo, and other amusements. Visitors can also browse the Arts and Crafts Marketplace with 40+ vendors, explore the Flea Market, and peruse the Mid-Mon Valley Model Railroad Club display at Pavilion 16. Five local musical groups will be featured in a Cavalcade of Bands at Pavilion #1. Genres include big band, jazz, patriotic, and variety styles. Performances take place at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. August Fun Fest is hosted by the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation and sponsored in-part by the Road Kings Car Club. ANNUAL PIG ROAST AND CLASSIC CAR SHOW - Thomas Presbyterian Church located at 1068 Linden Road in Eighty Four, PA, will host its annual Pig Roast and Classic Car Show on Saturday, August 15, from 3:00PM to 7:00PM. Proceeds from the event will benefit Pittsburgh-based Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans. Enjoy good food, live entertainment, classic cars, and a basket raffle. The event runs from 3:00PM to 7:00PM, with vehicle registration beginning at 2:00PM. Registration is $5 per vehicle. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 registered vehicles. Plaques will be awarded by decade, along with Best in Show trophies for car and truck. Food tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for children ages 4 to 10. Each meal includes a pork sandwich, baked beans, an ear of corn, coleslaw, dessert, and a beverage. A hamburger or hot dog may be substituted for the pork sandwich.

‘FRAMES AND DIPS’ - Long Branch Community Grange invites you to join us for a creative and fun event on Sunday August 16 at 2:00PM. This will be our first craft and dips event. We will be making Heirloom Frames. What is an Heirloom Frame, you may ask? If you are like many of us, you have a jewel box or just a plain old box full of costume jewelry that was passed down to you from your loved ones. It most likely does not have much monetary value but tons of emotional/sentimental value. This is your opportunity to give those treasures a new life by adding them to a picture frame to display and share. You bring the jewelry and a picture frame of your choosing. We will have a few extra frames available for a small price but first come/first serve. The $10 admission will cover the other items needed to make your craft and the many dips for you to try to continue to make the afternoon enjoyable. 5TH ANNUAL WARRIORS ROCK CONCERT - Sun., August 16, 2026, 3:00 pm @ Ringgold Middle School Auditorium. A musical tribute show to honor our local veterans and first responders, re-ignite your patriotism, and enjoy an awesome concert from all genres. Incorporated into the show are 6-8 professionally produced video interviews of local men and women who served, and after we hear their story, they are asked what one song reminds them of their time in service…then the band breaks into that song! The concert showcases a line-up of additional tunes from the decades, from all genres, and all the audience hears music they know and love. This show is enjoyed by all ages. The proceeds benefit local Mon Valley Region Veterans and Service Organizations as determined by the Mon Valley Veterans Council.

LOST AMUSEMENT PARKS OF WESTERN PA - On Saturday August 22nd at 10:00AM step back in time at the Monessen Public Library as we explore the history and images of Western Pennsylvania’s lost amusement parks. The program, "LOST AMUSEMENT PARKS OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA” will be hosted by Jennifer Sopko who is a Pittsburgh-based author whose work focuses on regional history and culture. Since 2003, Jennifer has covered Western Pennsylvania as a freelance journalist and writer for several regional publications, including Westmoreland History magazine.

WHISKEY REBELLION PROGRAM - West Jefferson Hills Historical Society is delighted to announce the return of author and historian Dr. Todd DePastino on August 26 at 7:00PM. Dr. DePastino will tell the story of the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion, a massive armed uprising and secessionist movement in the American West, which then included Pittsburgh.
