MontourTrail 2

The South Hills Friends are responsible for maintenance of the Montour Trail between Library and Clairton.  Additional information concerning the trail, including South Hills Friends contact information, may be obtained on the Montour Trail web site www.montourtrail.org.  Questions may be directed to info@montourtrail.org.


Montour Trail under construction between Pleasant and Wood Streets, South Park Township, 8/15/19. The trail is at right. The ramp at left will connect the trail to apartments (left background) currently under construction.

Next Meeting

The next meeting of the South Hills Friends of the Montour Trail will be held on September 10, 2019 at 6:30 PM at the South Park Township Library located at 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA. Individuals interested in the Montour Trail are encouraged to attend.

‘Penny Day’ Fundraiser  

The South Hills Friends annual ‘Penny Day’ fundraiser will be held on Saturday, October 5, from 9 am to 1 pm. Donation stations (posted with large signs) will be located at the Catfish Run Parking area in South Park Township (MP37.8), on Piney Fork Road near Gill Hall Road in Jefferson Hills Borough (MP40.6) and at the Clairton Trailhead, in Clairton (MP46.6).

Monthly Work Party      

The South Hills Friends of the Montour Trail monthly work party will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, the 2nd Saturday of the month. Volunteers will meet at the Brownsville Extension parking area (trail MP 37.5) at 9:00 AM.  The September project has not yet been determined. Interested volunteers should contact info@montourtrail.org after September 11 for more information.

The Rostraver Woman's Club (RWC) held their end of the year banquet at The River House Café in Charleroi on June 5. Hostesses for the evening were, Luann Lynn and Tami Brazon. They used a patriotic theme for the table décor and had large sugar cookies with the GFWC logo on them for favors.

PizzaStation Hills 2

Mark your calendars and come hungry – to Pizza Station and Hills Restaurant on September 6, 7 and 8.   The two restaurants, located in New Eagle will be giving back 20% of all sales on these days to the Union-Finley and Ringgold youth football and cheer teams.


Hills and The Pizza Station helping to support local sports teams like these budding athletes.

Come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, bring your friends, and come back each day between Sept 6 – 8 to enjoy fantastic food and help raise money for these local youth sports teams.
