Peters Creek Historical Society extends a ‘Soup and Stroll’ invitation to all at the Enoch Wright House, located at 815 Venetia Road, Venetia on Saturday, December 7 from 12:00 noon to 4:00PM. The annual holiday open house has become a tradition for many to kick off the joyful Christmas season.
Take in the charm of an historic 19th century home dressed in Christmas finery. Enjoy the ambiance in homemade fare with a bowl of soup, dessert and beverage. Take the time to stroll through the house to visit the mining room, talk with Father Christmas in Charity Wright's bedroom and to look at the display of ‘antique dress’ in the costume room. Wrap up your visit by making your way up to the log cabin and the warmth of a crackling fire to listen to re-enactors, who will take you back to pioneer days. Cost is just $12 for Adults, and $5 for Children under age 10. Tickets are purchased at the door!
To welcome visitors unable to attend "Soup and Stroll" who would like to visit and see the house in festive Christmas decor, the doors of the Enoch Wright House will be open to greet you on Sunday, December 8th from 1:00PM – 3:00PM. Cost is $5.
