Clogging is a percussive dance easily described as “common folk’s tap dance.” The Mon Valley Cloggers are the area’s most prominent cloggers, having performed over 750 shows in southwestern Pennsylvania since organization in 1992.
Clogging is good exercise and a social affair, and there are dances for all seasons. Many dance costumes are provided.
The free lessons allow the beginner to try clog dancing before committing and buying shoes. Beginners must eventually be available on Tuesdays for practices. Lesson dates depends on most beginner’s availability and might be Tuesdays 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. or 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Mondays or Wednesdays beginning early September. Lessons are in Forward Township, a short distance off PA-51.
All beginners will get 4 weeks free even if this runs into October. Those who continue pay $20 for each ten-week session.
No partner is required; men or women are welcome, ages 10 and up. Bring a friend - If you come with a friend and you both continue to the second session, it will be $10 each!
