Donora’s Fourth Annual Craft & Vendor Show on Saturday, August 10, was the picture-perfect day to come out and enjoy the unique vendors and assorted crafts available for a very worthy cause.
Held on 6th & McKean Ave. in Donora, from 10:00AM – 5:00PM, the event featured a total of 20 vendors for the community’s shopping pleasure. They included: Paparazzi Jewelry, Raven’s Baubles, Extreme Duty Grill by DFC, Ray’s Lemonade, Nooby’s Sweet Shoppe & Pebble’s Accessories, LLR Cozy Corner, Cool Crafts, and more. Raffle baskets for the Chinese Auction & Half the Take were donated. They contained Fall items, Teen related items, and home décor. The craft and vendor show showcased talented crafters and had delicious grilled food.
Event Host Kelly Balog says that this year she selected the Mon Valley Youth & Teen Association (to benefit from the vendor show), because she became a member of the board there.
“I love the work they do for the children,” said Balog. “They have some amazing programs for the kids, and the funds will help with things like paying for kids to attend camp or the Kids Connection Program.” Balog adds, “We definitely want to do something where we give back to the children. They (MVYATA) do a food bank also.” The Food Bank 2024 is held the 3rd Monday of every month at the MVYATA Center.
Mary Anne Bandalo, Executive Director of Mon Valley Youth & Teen, says the program benefits youth with events and programs detailed on their upcoming fall schedule on the website: www.mvyata.org. Parents and youth who want information to become involved in the program can go to this site. Please contact them at 724-379-4889 before coming to the Center or outside of operation hours and a representative will return your call. Donations and volunteers are always welcome for the organization. Mon Valley Youth & Teen Assoc., Inc. address is: 160 Thompson Ave., Donora, PA 15033.
