Monongahela Area Library Announces Upcoming Fall Events.
Story Time will now be offered at two times - Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Story time is designed for children ages 30 months to 5 years old. Ms. Becky reads to the children and then completes a craft with them.
Book Bites will meet on Thursday, September 17th at 1p.m. The book for September is “Emily and Einstein: A Novel of Second Chances” by Linda Francis Lee.
Fiber Friends will meet on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. Knitters, crocheters, and spinners of all skill levels are welcome.
The Friends of Monongahela Area Library will meet in the activity room on Thursday, September 24th at 1pm.
CASA for Kids, Inc. is a non-profit organization that trains community members (volunteers) to become Court Appointed Special Advocates who will speak up for the best interest of abused and neglected Child within the Court System of Washington County. These volunteers work as fact-finders by developing a relationship with the child, their family, and others who touch the child’s life. CASA’S provide the judge with as much information as possible prior to the judge reaching a decision that will forever affect this Child’s life. Representatives of the CASA for Kids program will be at the library on Friday, September 11th from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. to further inform the public about the program.
Fall Fleatique and Book Sale will occur on Saturday, October 3rd from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Fleatique spaces are still available at $15 each (non-refundable) but are limited in number. They are available first come, first serve. The library is accepting donations of gently used books during our open hours. Please…no textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, or magazines. We are also accepting donations of good condition flea market items during open hours. No TVs, exercise equipment or large items.
