Rostraver Public Library announces the following December Events and schedule.
Rostraver Public Library will again host family movies one Saturday each month during the winter season. The program kicks off on Saturday, December 3 at 1 p.m. with "The Search for Santa Paws." Popcorn will be served but children should bring sleeping bags or pillows to cushion the floor. The program is free and open to the public.
Christmas and holiday music will fill the air when library hosts a select group of Belle Vernon High School chorus members under the direction of Belle Vernon Area Music Teacher Michael Rozell on Tuesday, December 6th at 6 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.
The Evening Book Club will meet on the second Monday of the month, December 12 at 7 p.m. to discuss the Young Adult novel, "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" by John Boyne. The group will return to meeting on the third Monday in January.
The Afternoon Book Club will meet on Wednesday, December 14 at 1 p.m. to share titles and reviews of books they've read recently. No meetings are planned for January and February.
The Knitters meet each Tuesday and alternate times between the afternoon at 1 p.m. and evenings at 7 p.m. Please call the library at 724-379-5511 for this month's dates and times.
The library is currently selling Enjoy Books as a fundraiser. A portion of the $30 price benefits general operations.
During the winter months the library follows the Belle Vernon Area School District decision on closing in inclement weather. The library will also be closed in observance of the Christmas holiday Dec. 24 - 26 and for New Year's the following weekend.
