Library News

The Pleasant Hills Public Library announces the following events and schedule.

A Hogwarts Holiday: Thursday, December 1 at 4 p.m. While you might not be able to visit Hogsmeade this holiday season, you can learn how to make some really awesome Harry Potter themed ornaments. For students in grades 4 – 12. A $2 donation per person is requested and will be collected at the event. Please register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailing danylod@einetwork.net.

 Gingerbread House Workshop: Saturday, December 10 at 11 a.m. OR 1 p.m. Let your creativity run wild while you use a variety of edible materials to decorate a pre-made gingerbread house. Family program. A $3 donation per house decorator is requested and will be collected at the event. Please register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailing danylod@einetwork.net.

 Annual Family Holiday Party: Monday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate the winter holidays at the library. Enjoy stories, games, crafts, snacks, and a special visit from the man in red. Family program. A $2 donation per child and a half dozen cookies per family is requested and will be collected at the event.  Make And Paint Ornaments: Wednesdays, December 14 and 21 at 10:30 a.m. Make fun ornaments out of air drying dough on December 14 and then come back to paint them on December 21. For children ages 2 and up. Please register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailingdanylod@einetwork.net.

Learn How To Play Chess: Thursdays, December 29 at 2 p.m. and January 5 at 4 p.m. Learn the art of chess from a U.S. Candidate Master. David Donohoe will teach us some basic strategy and tactics then we’ll play a few rounds. For students in grades 4 – 12. Please register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailing danylod@einetwork.net.
