Clairton City police sergeant Keith Zenkovich and police dog Ike visited students at South Park Elementary Center on Monday, April 4. Sergeant Zenkovich explained to South Park fifth graders how Ike helps him do his job and the training that he and Ike have gone through. South Park students were able to ask Sergeant Zenkovich many questions.
Seven Newly Renovated Classrooms Open at South Park Middle School
As part of the ongoing $20 million renovation of South Park Middle School, seven additional renovated classrooms, including two science classrooms, recently opened. South Park students and faculty began to occupy the renovated classrooms in early April.
The renovation of family and consumer sciences, art, and technical education classrooms began in early April and is expected to be completed this summer.
South Park Middle School’s new administration offices are expected to be completed in May, and work on the new gymnasium is anticipated to wrap up in late August.
The renovation of South Park Middle School is expected to be completed in December 2016.
South Park Elementary Center Holds Kindergarten Registration
The 2016-2017 kindergarten registration for South Park Elementary Center has begun. In order for a child to be eligible for kindergarten, the student must reach the age of five (5) before September 1, 2016.
Registration packets will be available to pick up at South Park Elementary Center between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on any day school is in session.
