The Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce hit the links at their 2019 annual Chamber “Legends of Commerce” Golf Outing at Nemacolin Country Club on Thursday, June 6.

This year’s outing, honoring Mr. Jack LaCarte, attracted 86 golfers. The first place team with a score of 55 was Marsh Tire. The foursome was made up of Ed Protin, Brett Young, Kevin Mollis and John Stech.

Sponsorships for the event were sold out. The event sponsor was Highway Appliance, who was joined by more than 40 additional sponsors. A silent auction was held with generous donations from local businesses and members as well as a free one year membership to Nemacolin Country Club valued at $3,000.

“We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day,” said Leanna Spada, Chamber Director. “The weather was spectacular and we exceeded fundraising goals all while having fun on a beautiful course.”

Spada added “What can I say about our Legend this year, Mr. Jack LaCarte is truly a gem. Our Chamber as well as our Valley is honored to be able to call him our very own.”

The proceeds from the outing benefit chamber programs for the growth and economic development of the Mid Mon Valley Area along with scholarships given to two local students attending California University and Douglas Education Center.
