School News

This past fall, 7th grade students at Ringgold Middle School read the novel, A Long Walk to Water.

Pledge complete! Students celebrate achieving their goal.

While doing research on the novel, students approached Mrs. Laura Scagline about raising money to help build water wells and help others have clean water.

Inspired to do something, Mrs. Scagline and the RAMS Care Club submitted their pledge for the ‘Iron Giraffe Challenge’, held by Water for South Sudan.

The organization Water for South Sudan delivers life-changing, sustainable, locally led programs that strengthen individuals, families, communities and the nation of South Sudan, enabled by inspired donors and supporters world-wide.

Mrs. Scagline and the RAMS Care Club sponsored many events to raise funds: a chorus concert, bake sale, walk for water during student activity period in the gym, M&M Jar Guess, pay theme days, pink out for water, and independent donations. The pledge of $1,000 was completed this spring.
