The South Park Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting on November 13 at their usual time at 7 p.m.
Prior to the regular meeting, they held two meetings, one concerning MS4, which refers to the maintenance and upkeep of municipal storm water systems, and the other was in regards to adding an ordinance, regulating a transit oriented overlay development.
The MS4 meeting was an informational meeting about MS4 in general to educate residents. Some of the latest developments with MS4 include inlet cleaning and the flushing out of storm sewer lines.
The following topics were covered during the regular meeting.
The bond reduction for the Smoker Self Storage Plan, located at 2900 Piney Fork Rd., was approved and reduced from $54,430, to the remaining balance of $770.
A public hearing is scheduled for Tues. Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m., to receive public testimony, with regard to South Park Township’s 2018 Comprehensive Plan.
On Monday, December 11 at 6:45 p.m., a public hearing will be held regarding the Township’s pollution reduction plan for the purpose of receiving comments from the residents of South Park.
As of Tuesday, November 14, Aaron Laughlin was appointed as South Park Township’s Public Works Director.
The service contract between Animal Control Services and the Township of South Park was approved. The contract will last for five years, starting December 1, 2017.
SHACOG received bids on September 25, for the purchase of fall commodities for the Township. The bids were approved at the meeting.
