During or near National Fire Prevention Week, the Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department annually holds an open house for area residents. The event was held on Sunday October 12. Kids were fascinated by all the big trucks and shiny equipment. They had opportunities to climb on the trucks and sit in the driver's seat for photos.

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Inc. has announced the topics for their annual Irish History Writing Contest. The topic for both levels is "The Role of the Irish People in the American Civil War." Entries must be submitted by November 15, 2014.

MACC Presents Tri-Community Light-Up Night on November 21

The Monongahela Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the tri-community holiday light-up celebration, "Santa Claus is Shopping in Town," to be held on November 21 starting at 5:30 p.m.

Luminaries will light the way from Lenzi's Service Station to the New Eagle Bakery, compliments of Keystone Bakery and Therm~O~Rock. Shuttle bus service will be available from Sheetz to New Eagle Bakery.

Christmas trees donated by Lone Oak Farm will be on display in the community and decorated by Madonna Catholic Regional and Ringgold Students.

Most local businesses will be hosting open house & raffles with prize giveaways.

Santa will be lead by the Monongahela/Donora Lions Club from New Eagle V.F.D to Chess Park to light the Community Christmas Tree at 6:10 p.m. then along Main Street to Sheetz where he will be stopping at his home in front of First Federal Savings Bank at 6:30. Grilli's Studio will be available to take your picture with Santa, and all children will receive a Christmas treat from Santa!

The Dance Company by Miss Lori of New Eagle will be entertaining throughout the Community.

 

Ringgold High School carolers will sing along Main Street. First Baptist Church will present a Living Nativity.
