The Peters Creek Historical Society welcomes Edd Hale as their guest speaker on Monday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m., Wrights United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia.
Mr. Hale is a retired Keystone Oaks History teacher and his topic of discussion will be “The Castle Shannon Bank Robbery of 1917.” The First National Bank of Castle Shannon, established in 1904, was located on Poplar Ave. and believed to be the first bank in the South Hills. Original pictures of the bank can be previewed at the Castle Shannon Library website. The meeting is open to the public.
