Elizabeth Township Offers Outdoor Skating During Winter Months

By Michelle Taylor

Elizabeth Township officially opened its outdoor, skate-at-your-own-risk ice rink on January 6th in front of the municipal building on Rock Run Road.

Rink
The youth of the community enjoys skating, whether it is learning how to skate or playing hockey

The community is excited to have a place they can pull together a friendly hockey game, aplace where the local lovers can skate hand in hand, and a place where parents can teach their little ones how to ice skate.

There is no fee to enjoy the rink; it just requires that you have your own skates.

The township has a flag system that lets skaters know if it is safe or not to skate on the ice. A green flag indicates good conditions, and a red flag indicates unfavorable conditions.

With the success of this ice rink, which will only be available in the winter months, the township is considering the option of opening a dek hockey rink in the township as well.

If you're looking for something to do, bring the family down and have some fun!
