The Fallowfield Township Volunteer Fire Company celebrated their 50th year anniversary on October 18, 2014. The celebrations took place at the Double Tree Hotel in Meadowlands, PA and included a wonderful banquet with multiple speakers after the dinner.

The fire company was chartered in 1964 through the efforts of just a small group of dedicated residents and, since that time, has grown and progressed into the future. Olga Woodward, an honorary member of the fire company and also a past township supervisor, wished the fire company a happy 50th birthday and presented the fire company with a monetary donation in a birthday box with a toy fire truck. Also, a bronze plaque was presented by Charleroi Fire Chief Bob Whiten from the Charleroi VFD to the Fallowfield Twp. VFC in congratulations for their 50 years of service to the community.

After the speakers, each one of the fire company's deceased members were remembered by the placing of a white carnation on a set of turn-out gear followed by a moment of silence and prayer. Each person in attendance was presented with a 50th year celebration arm patch.
