Rep. Bud Cook (R-Greene/Washington) announced grant funding was awarded to multiple essential first responder companies in the 50th District.

Thirty-two fire companies and ambulance squads in the 50th District, covering Greene and parts of Washington counties, are recipients of grants administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. The money can be used for construction, renovation, equipment purchases or repairs, and existing debt reduction.

“Properly funding our fire and emergency services in Greene and Washington counties is essential to providing a safe and prosperous environment to live in,” Cook said. “I am ever grateful for our many first responders, including many volunteers who step in the line of duty to provide these services and protect the 50th District.”

The funding for these grants comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature and supported by proceeds from slot machine gaming, not General Fund tax revenue. Grants awarded to Washington County are listed below
