A Food Truck and Vendor Event was held at Monessen City Park Walking Track on September 2, 2023, from 10:00AM  – 4:00PM.  Every month, Greater Monessen Neighborhood Organization showcases local vendors, which is notably done to help people in need, and not for any individual gain.  

“I am trying to bring the community back together by doing these events,” said Lil Hurst, President and CEO of Greater Monessen Neighborhood Organization.  “The events help raise money for us to help low-income families and homeless people in need of clothing and non-perishable food.  We have also helped pay bills for some people that lost jobs or provided Christmas for kids that don’t have families.”  

A total of 22 vendors were on had at the Sept. 22 event.  The next monthly event will be a ‘Fall Festival’ on October 7, from 10:00AM – 4:00PM, at Monessen City Park Walking Track.  With the colder weather coming, they are currently working on doing indoor events soon.  For more information on volunteering for the organization or about upcoming events, go to the Greater Monessen Neighborhood Organization Facebook page or call Lil Hurst at 724-672-0074.  They are also searching for more food trucks and vendors.
