March is Women’s History Month as well as the time of the year when just about everyone lays claim to Irish ancestry. Could there be a more perfect time to kick back and hear a free program about the incredible women of Ireland?

At 7:00 P.M on Wednesday, March 22 in the Community Rooms of the Jefferson Hills Municipal Building, the West Jefferson Hills Historical Society will offer just such a program. Dynamic speaker Donna Edwards-Jordan will present ‘Women of Ireland,’ a cultural history program honoring the daughters of Maeve - past and present. Ireland is a land of strong women. Women of power. Power of all sorts: physical, moral, creative, intellectual. But history has not always been kind, and their achievements have sometimes been hidden. During the month which celebrates women and their achievements, learn how the contributions of Irish women have shaped the culture of Ireland...and the world!

Donated items may be brought to the library located at 505 Speer Street in North Belle Vernon during library hours Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 9 to 4. For more info, contact the library at 724-929-6642.
