Belle Vernon Public Library is partnering with the Goodwill of SWPA’s Tri County Plaza location to host a Donation Drive. Goodwill Donations brought to the store on Tuesday, March 28 between 3 – 6 p.m. will help the library raise money, as well benefit Goodwill in their mission to help people overcome barriers to employment.

“This has long been an effort of the library as a community resource help our fellow community members,” noted the Library Director Elina Filander. “It gives our patrons and residents to ‘Spring Clean” their appliance and clothes and at the same time help a very valuable agency like Goodwill.”
Goodwill moved in September of 2022 from their longtime location on Finley Road in Belle Vernon to the neighboring plaza at 460 Tri County Lane, the location of the former Peebles store.
“We hope to have the great support from the community we had last year,” said Filander. “The folks at the senior center in Washington Township, the local high rise and the football team were all instrumental in getting the job done, and we appreciated everyone’s efforts.”
The library will also accept donated items at the library on the week leading up to the donation day during regular library hours beginning on March 21. Acceptable donations include clothing, handbags, glass and housewares, cooking accessories, musical instruments, sports equipment and toys. Furniture, baby cribs and gates, computers and televisions are among the items that cannot be included in the donation day. A full list of acceptable and unacceptable items is available at the library.
Donated items may be brought to the library located at 505 Speer Street in North Belle Vernon during library hours Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 9 to 4. For more info, contact the library at 724-929-6642.
