Due to our summer hiatus, there is no meeting scheduled for August. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 7 p.m. at the Library Fire Hall.

The scheduled program is the “Cement City” with guest speaker Brian Charlton. All Society meetings are open to the public at no charge and light refreshments are served.

Historical Snowden Township/South Park Township

The Society’s published book “Historical Snowden Township/South Park Township” is available for sale at the South Park Library for $20 (tax included). Books can also be ordered by calling 412-835-9529 or 412-655-4104. For an additional $3.25 for postage, the book can be mailed to any destination.

Yard Sale

The Society will hold a yard sale on Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12 at 6127 Pleasant Street from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you have any items to donate, please call 412-655-4104. Plan to visit

and see what treasures you may find. All proceeds will benefit the South Park Historical Society Building Fund.

South Park Community Day

The Society is participating in the South Park Community Day. The date is September 16 from noon to dusk. The theme is ”Ghost SPOOKTACULAR” and, as in the past years, the event will be in the agricultural building. Stop and visit!
