The Monessen Historical Society announced the folowing events.
Autumn Exhibit
The autumn exhibit at the Monessen Heritage Museum, 505 Donner Ave., focuses on the five former ethnic Roman Catholic churches of the city, which were consolidated together to form the Epiphany of the Lord Church 25 years ago. Each former church has a separate display of photographs and memorabilia. The exhibit can be viewed through the end of the year on Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Fund Drive
The annual fund drive and membership renewal has started. Be on the lookout for a mailing containing the necessary forms and information. The donations are used to run the museum and provide for the historic preservation of Monessen’s past. Membership and donation forms can also be picked up at the Museum. Single memberships are $15 per calendar year. Family memberships are $20 and business memberships are $50.

The Museum Shoppe has unique holiday gifts. Stop in and shop locally! There are local history books, ethnic cookbooks, furniture throws, and many other items for that hard to buy for person on your list.
The Heritage Museum will be closed on Saturday, December 3, 2016, as the Historical Society partners with Monessen Public Library & Cultural Center and Monessen Community Development Corporation for the community Christmas celebration at the Library. GMHS will provide free photos with Santa during the afternoon that will be mailed to the homes.
The Heritage Museum will be closed from December 23, 2016 until January 4, 2017.
The Historical Society is accepting donations of antique Christmas decorations and items for use in the show windows of the Endicott Johnson/ Milsom Building.
