The colors of the leaves are beginning to change, which means the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum’s annual Pumpkin Patch Trolley is about to be underway. Join them Friday through Sunday October 14-16, 21-23 and 28-30 for this fall event.

Pumpkin Patch Trolley

Visitors are invited to experience the fall season with rides on their trolleys that are outfitted with autumn decorations. The trolleys will take families to the Trib Total Media Trolley Display building where they can tour the large collection of trolleys. While there, children can select a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and then take it to the events room where they will be able to decorate it. There will be children’s games and complimentary fall themed refreshments. The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The last trolley of the day will leave for the pumpkin patch at 4 p.m.

Admission to the Pumpkin Patch Trolley is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (age 62+) and $8 for kids (ages1-15). Children under 1 are free. These tickets can be purchased for specific time periods in advance online at www.patrolley.org. Those individuals who purchase advance tickets will receive priority boarding on the trolleys. Each purchase of a child’s ticket includes a pumpkin; those who would like to purchase an additional pumpkin may do so for $2. This admission also includes tours of the museum and unlimited rides on the trolleys. Be sure to stop in the Museum Store and watch the 12-minute introductory film about the trolley era.

During select dates of the Pumpkin Patch Trolley, the Washington County Fairgrounds will be hosting its Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts Christmas Festival. This festival will run Friday through Sunday, October 14-16 and Saturday through Sunday, October 22-23. Pennsylvania Trolley Museum will be providing park and ride service for guests interested in parking in the museum’s parking lot and riding to the fairgrounds. This park and ride service will cost $3 person and children under 4 are free. This service does not represent or include the pumpkin patch activities going on during the Pumpkin Patch Trolley.

Directions: Take I-79 to exit 41, Race Track Road, or take US Route 19 to Race Track Road. After exiting, follow signs for Pennsylvania Trolley Museum until you arrive. For more information about events, room rentals or group tours, please call 724-228-9256 or visit www.patrolley.org
