Local pipeline and gas distribution companies are hosting a pipeline safety and awareness program. This event includes a complimentary meal and incident exercise for the first responders in our communities.
Quality first responder training is essential in establishing the communication network needed to effectively manage an emergency situation. In an attempt to enhance these communications, local pipeline operators and gas distribution companies are providing first responder training at no cost. The meetings will last approximately 90 minutes, and in certain areas, continuing education credits will be awarded to the first responders in attendance.
The following objectives will be covered during the program:
- Virtual incident exercise and discussion
- Leak recognition and response
- Product hazards and characteristics
- Safety initiatives
- Pipeline purpose and reliability
- Defining high consequence areas
