Our meetings and guild still support the community artist in whatever medium they choose. All are welcome to our meetings where we promote and encourage participation in art shows in our area, and “hangings” within our communities.
In the past these include showings and sales: at the Galleria Art Shows in Mt Lebanon, the Bethel Park Community Center, Bethel Park Library Reading Room, and others.
So if you paint, if you sculpt, if you whittle, if you zentangle, or if you are a photographer, we have people at our meetings you’ll want to meet. Join us on Thursday September 1, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave., Bethel Park.
September’s meeting will include information and discussion on exhibiting at the Galleria Art Show in October. Our business meeting is followed by a light lunch and a guest speaker. In September, we will host Lynn Angelelli, MIS. Lynn has been an artist all her life, she has won many awards, and is a member of many art organizations. Lynn is a contract artist who was commissioned by Duquesne University and the city of Pittsburgh to paint the panoramic mural of the university and city, which is stilled displayed at the University and has been since the 1980s. Since her retirement from her 30-year career in information technology, she maintains an art studio in her home where she peruses her studies in art, and accepts commissions for contemporary watercolor portraits. She also teaches silk painting therapy classes.
All members past and present and those interested in art, no matter your age or expertise, will find something at our meeting. We hope you will leave our meeting as a member of the Bethel Art Guild (BAG), established over 55 years ago.
