The annual August Fun Fest will take place at Cedar Creek Park on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 10am to 6 p.m. There’s something for everyone with great food, fun entertainment and lots of children’s rides and amusements. This event is free to the public and offers free parking.

Headlining this year’s August Fun Fest are The Vogues, performing at the amphitheater at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Vogues will have the audience singing along to their classic hits such as “Turn Around Look At Me” and “You’re The One.”

Also featured at August Fun Fest is Doc Swan - magician, juggler, fire-eater, mind-reader and comedian. Doc has won numerous awards for his unique acts, and no two shows are exactly the same! Show times are 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

That Guy With The Birds will be showing off his feathered friends at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. With music, magic, and hands on interaction, get an up-close adventure with these intelligent creatures! Entertaining as well as educational, That Guy With The Birds is sure to delight crowds young and old.

A Pittsburgh Pirates alumni player will be on hand for autograph sessions from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your cameras and get a photo with a legendary Pirate!

The Road Kings Car Club will host the giant August Fun Fest Show Car Cruise, with over 500 antiques, hot rods, modifieds, stock cars, and commercials! No motorcycles are permitted. The show features all types of cars up to 2016 models and has been highlighted in Hot Rod News magazine. Show cars can enter beginning at 9 a.m.

The Mid-Mon Valley Model Railroad Club will be displaying their modular train layout at Pavilion 16. This display will depict the Mid-Mon Valley and some of the more important industries throughout history.

Five local musical groups will be featured in a cavalcade of bands at Pavilion #1. Groups performing include The Solitudes at 12 p.m., Wally Ginger’s Orchestra at 2 p.m., The Townsmen Plus One at 3 p.m., Pittsburgh Big Band Legends at 4 p.m., and the Andy Gregg Country Combo at 5 p.m.

Kids can have fun all day with an All Day Ride Pass for only four dollars! Children can purchase the pass and get unlimited access to all carnival rides, pony rides, horse drawn trolley rides, kiddie train rides and petting zoo. Other attractions at the festival include an arts and crafts show with over 40 vendors and craftsmen, a flea market, bingo, and various group demonstrations.

August Fun Fest is a Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation special event, and is sponsored by West Penn Power, the Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce, the Road Kings Car Club, and the Mon Valley Independent.
