Monongahela Area Library recently announced its upcoming events.
Monongahela Area Library will host Uniontown Poultry Association Secretary Krista Martin as she presents her class, ‘Backyard Chicken Keeping Basics.’ She will speak about the legality of chickens, chicken breeds, housing, feeding, health, predators, and answer questions from program attendees. Krista will also bring some chickens, cages, handouts, some books about chickens, and some chicken treats. This will be a most informative and fun time for one and all. The class is free, but donations are appreciated.
Story Time will be offered at two times through the end of April on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Story time is designed for children ages 30 months to 5 years old. Ms. Becky reads to the children and then completes a craft with them.
Color Me Happy Hour is gearing back up. Designed for teens through adults. We provide free coloring pages of varying complexity as well as crayons, colored pencils, and markers. You may also bring your own coloring pages. Come relax and create with us on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. You may bring refreshments.
Family Block Party! Bring your children to an entertaining night with wooden building blocks. The block party will be held Monday, April 11th from 5:30p.m. to 6:30p.m. Hosted by Miss Becky!
Book Bites will meet on Thursday, April 21st at 1p.m. The book for April is “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova. All are welcome. If you plan to join in on the discussion and would like the library to get a copy of the book for you, please call us so we can reserve a copy for you.
The Ladies Grand Army of the Republic will hold a Children’s Design a Flag Workshop at the library on Saturday, April 23rd from 1p.m.-1:45p.m. and 2p.m.-2:45p.m. Free materials will be provided to design a flag for those attending. First come, first served, meeting room space permitting. Donations are voluntary and will be divided equally and given to Monongahela Bethel A.M.E. Church for William Catlin Memorial in Chess Park and to the Monongahela Area Library.
The Monongahela Area Library is the polling place for district 3-2 so make sure to come out and vote on April 26th.
The Writers Club will meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6p.m. All are welcome. If you are new to the club, please call to make sure they are meeting that day.
