Library News

The Jefferson Hills Library recently announced its April Events.

Borough of Jefferson Hills Summer Recreation Program for children ages 5 through 12:

  • 9 a.m. to noon weekday mornings; $35 per child.
  • Registration begins on April 15 at Jefferson Hills Library
  • Program runs from July 5 through July 29
  • 5-8 year olds will attend at Gill Hall Park
  • 9-12 year olds will attend at 885 Park

The Friends of the Jefferson Hills Library Annual Book and Boutique Sale will be held from April 8 through 10 at the Borough of Jefferson Hills Municipal Center. Proceeds benefit the Jefferson Hills Library.

The Friends will host a Preview Party on April 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. where guests will have first choice of books, boutique items, raffle baskets and appetizers and desserts. Tickets are on sale for  $10 at the Library before April 7 and $12 at the door.

Saturday, April 9       10 a.m. to 4 p.m.    Specials plus BOGO on ALL books

Sunday, April 10       10 a.m. to 2 p.m.     Bag Day, $5/Bag; Boutique, 50% off

YOGA - Beginners and Intermediate. Wednesday Evenings  5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuition is $5 per session or $ 7 for both sessions in the same week. No YOGA on April 6th or 9th.

Zumba Fitness - Monday evenings 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuition is $5 per class.

Decorative and Tole Painting - Thursday evening April 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please register.

Silent Tales of Richland Cemetery - Wednesday, April 27 from  7 to 8:15 p.m. The Jefferson Hills Library and West Jefferson Hills Historical Society will co-sponsor "Silent Tales of Richland Cemetery," featuring speakers telling the stories of the prominent people buried in the Dravosburg Cemetery dating back to the Civil War.

Penn State Master Gardeners will present "Starting Plants from Seed" - Tuesday, April 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. FREE - Please register.

Spring Story Times  - for children ages 3 and up. Thursdays 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. and 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.

April 7 - "Colors are Amazing"

April 14 - "Show and Tell"

April 21 - Celebrate Earth Day by making a recycled craft

April 28 - Moms are Special.  We will make a special gift for mom
