Join our conversation salon for a lively discussion of current topics and events of the day. This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Stay local and get vocal! No registration required.
Fireside Tales: A Very Whitehall Christmas - Friday December 12 at 10:30 a.m.
It’s a holiday story! Gather around the library stacks for this festive program of tales and treats! Professional storyteller Lisa Hollingsworth-Segedy will take you back to times of roasted chestnuts, white nights, and mistletoe while you relax with yuletide snacks and drinks. Space is limited. Calligraphy 101: The Art of the Written Word - Monday December 15 at 1 p.m.
Join us for this special presentation on the art of bringing letters to life! Professional calligrapher Karen Nordstrom Roberts will illuminate just how words on a page can become --with a flourish here and a slant there-- a thing of beauty. Pittsburgh's Mansions: A Stately Presentation - Tuesday December 16 at 1 p.m.
Join us for a special presentation by Melanie Linn Gutowski, author of Pittsburgh's Mansions. Her book explores the stately homes of Western Pennsylvania's prominent residents from the 1830s through the 1920s, complete with vintage photographs and local trivia. The author will highlight several mansions from the book, answer your questions, and sign copies. Space is limited. Classic Works! Book Club - Saturday December 20 at 10:30 a.m.
