Business & Merchant

On Thursday, April 23, the Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce will host its 40th annual dinner. Initiated in 1975 by the Rostraver Business Association, this dinner of tradition and recognition has evolved from the Founder's Day Dinner to the Recognition Dinner. The dinner will be held at the Willow Room.

The GRC will recognize the following honorees at this year's dinner:

Business of the Year – Rostraver Shop-n-Save, Duritza FamilyYoung Professional of the Year – Jamie St. Clair Davis, Proprietress of Salon Eye CandyCommunity Service – Kate Crawford

The selection of Business of the Year uses specific criteria of outstanding community support, involvement and leadership in the community. Our recognition of Rostraver Shop-n-Save, Duritza family, is of a business that truly represents family and community. The Duritza family started in the grocery business in 1973 and now owns 11 grocery stores, providing employment and economic growth in Western PA and West Virginia.

Jamie St. Clair Davis is our Young Professional of the Year for her success as an entrepreneur who started her business, Salon Eye Candy, in 2012 and has shown tremendous growth and sustainability in just a few short years while balancing raising a young family.

Recognizing Kate Crawford for her outstanding community service was made easy because of her passion and involvement in the organizations that are personally close to her and have touched her life in so many aspects. Always giving of her time, treasure and talent, Kate is one amazing person deserving of this recognition.
