Municipal News

New Eagle residents and others driving through the borough will notice the addition of new welcome signs, recently constructed and installed by Don’s Signs, Council announced at the May 1 borough meeting.

The welcome signs are located at Route 837, Route 88, and as you enter New Eagle from Monongahela. The borough also installed a new sign at the borough building.

Landscaping and lighting will be completed at the signs by Route 837 and Route 88 by Don’s Signs.

In other business:

  • PennDOT has announced a project to begin in June involving South Route 88 over Mingo Creek. The project will include the replacement of bridge seals and other repairs. Construction will begin in August and is anticipated to conclude in November.
  • Chess Street will be closed June 9 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for the annual car show.
  • The borough will be continuing to cite for junk vehicle and grass cutting violations.
