Katie Sickels (Monongahela Area Library) accepts check from George Eckert (MARC)

 Katie Sickels of the Monongahela Area Library accepts a check for $100 from George Eckert, treasurer of the Monongahela Area Revitalization Corporation (MARC). MARC has pledged its support to the library with an annual gift.

Mantle House Mission and Resale Store, located at 132 South Water Street, West Newton, has the following upcoming events listed:


Community Yard Sale Day, Saturday June 4 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Shop our sidewalk sales with over 50 tables store wide.                          

 Volunteer Day at Mantle House, Saturday, June 11 at 9 a.m. We welcome church groups, community organizations, and/or individuals who would like to help complete our Mission houses.  Come and share in the blessing with these groups and others who are making a difference at the Mission.  Lunch provided.  Come join the fellowship and help us make a house into a home for our homeless young female residents, ages 18-24.     

Free lunch offered to all –second Saturday of the month beginning July 9 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Come and enjoy a great lunch free of charge.  Rain or shine.   

 

Mantle House Mission Resale: Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.   Browse through our 6 full rooms, including a children’s room and a garage that’s open all year round.   All household goods, collectibles, linens, purses, shoes, furniture, small appliances are included in the sale community yard sale day.

 Bookstore:   Also open Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.  We have quite a variety of books at a very reasonable price.  The bookstore also accepts donations of books that are in the above categories and are in good condition.                                     

All proceeds benefit homeless young women, with every purchase from the store you are helping to give a young woman a second chance.

Fun, tradition, awards! These are just some of the reasons the Brentwood 5K Firecracker draws over 2,000 runners to this annual event. This year, Allegheny Health Network at Cool Springs is joining the many supporters of this race.
