More than 500 people enjoyed a free outdoor Oldies Appreciation Dance at the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department's recreation complex. The event was presented by the firemen to express their gratitude to the thousands of people that have supported their dances over the past 57 years.

The Valley Garden Club held a beautifully patriotic and most well-received standard flower show themed, "Red, White and Bloom," from 1-6 p.m., July 10, at the Monessen Public Library and Cultural Center. It was free for the public to enjoy.


The Heritage Players are holding auditions for the musical "Little Women" from 7 - 9 p.m. on August 3 at the Seton Center, 1900 Pioneer Ave., Brookline, and August 4 at the Schoolhouse Arts Center, 2600 South Park Road, Bethel Park.
