At the February 1, 2017 Rostraver Woman’s Club meeting, members voted on local student art projects as part of the General Federation of Women’s Club art contest.

Club members also competed in the arts:  President Barbara Mollenauer took first place - for a wine cork wreath; Tamira Spedaliere took first place - for an ornament; Diana Caley Dow took first place - for a drawstring bag.  All first place winners will now move forward to compete at the Southwestern Pennsylvania District Level to be held March 18, 2017 in Hempfield Township.  

 

At the meeting, President Mollenauer presented the annual report for the 2016 club year. With only 16 members approximately 400 volunteer hours were completed along with numerous donations. President Mollenauer also welcomed their newest member, Luann Lynn, to her first official meeting.  Luann Lynn was installed by Melanie Patterson along with her sponsor, Vice President Beata Herold at the December 7, 2016 banquet.  

 

On March 25, 2017, the Woman’s Club will be hosting a stuffed pork chop dinner fundraiser at Gary’s Chuck Wagon Restaurant, 109 South 2nd Street, West Newton. The dinner is eat-in or take-out and will include a stuffed pork chop, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, roll and butter, coffee or tea, and dessert. Tickets are $12 per person and on sale at Gary’s Chuck Wagon, by contacting a member of the Rostraver Woman’s Club, or calling Barbara 724-872-4563 or Bea 724-379-8284. 

 

If you would like join the Rostraver Woman’s Club, please attend the next meeting to be held at Fells Methodist Church at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Membership is open year round.
