April Events

April 6 - Farmer Joe – Fresh fruit and vegetables -10:30 a.m.

April 8 - Blood Pressure Checks courtesy of A.M.EDISYS -11 a.m.

April 11- Blood Pressure Checks courtesy of Rite Aid Blood -11 a.m.

April 11 - National “Pet Day”. Come to the Center and share a picture of your pet.

April 12 - Alison Bessessdotter, Award Winning Artist will share a slide presentation of her work - 10:30 a.m.

April 12 - Jerry B. Band - 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Come to lunch and if you find a spring flower on your tray, you will receive $5 toward your next bingo cards.

April 12 - Advisory Board Meeting -1 p.m.

April 13 - Volunteer Breakfast, by invitation. The Center will be honoring our volunteers and those of local community agencies - 8 a.m.

April 13 - Alison Bessessdotter will host a little bear pillow workshop - 11 a.m.

April 18 - Keystone Physical Therapy, Special Speaker - 11 a.m.

April 20 - Farmer Joe – Fresh fruit and vegetables - 10:30 a.m.

April 20 - Healthy Steps for Older Adults Class, 9 a.m.—2 p.m. Call the Center at 724‑684‑6501to pre-register. Everyone who participates in the class will have an opportunity to win a Fitbit.

April 22 - National Earth Day. Volunteers needed to plant our spring flowers at the front of the building. Call the Center for more details and to schedule your time.

April 28 -Twilight Bingo, Doors open at 5 p.m. Bingo begins at 6:15 p.m.

April 30 - Raise your Voice Festival, Monessen City Park, 12 p.m.—7 p.m. Come speak with a Center representative.

Bus Trips for 2016

In conjunction with the West Newton Center for Active Adults, we have a variety of bus trips scheduled this year. They vary in price and points of interest. See the West Newton Center for Active Adults ad for dates, prices and details. All trips depart from the West Newton Volunteer Fireman’s parking lot, Riverside Drive, West Newton with a second stop at Rt. 70/Rt. 201 Belle Vernon Park ‘n’ Ride. Cancellations are accepted only if you replace yourself. Call the West Newton Center for a waitlist at 724-872-4976. Mail your check with your name and telephone number to West Newton Senior Center, 103 East Main St., West Newton, PA 15089. Every person traveling with us must sign a one-time release this year.
