Mind and Body Fitness Program

Tuesday, September 16 – Brain games with OSPTA at 10:30 a.m. followed by a brain fitness class 11:15. Light refreshments at noon.

 

Healthy Steps

Thursday, October 2 – Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, Inc. presents "Healthy Steps: A Fall Prevention Program" for those 50 and older at the YMCA. The program will be held in the new meeting room from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free fall risk screening, refreshments and lunch provided. Free to all members and non-members. Pre-register at the Mon Valley YMCA or call Jodi Lignelli at 724-483-8077. RSVP by Monday, September 29.

Dining with Diabetes

Tuesdays - October 21 and 28; November 4 and 11, 2014; January 20, 2015 – Penn State Extension presents "Dining with Diabetes," a program for adults with diabetes and their families. The October 21 class will be held in the Activity Hall from 1 – 3:30 p.m.; all other classes will be held in the Activity Hall from 1 – 3 p.m. Each class offers food demonstrations and tastings, physical activity and much more. Lab tests will be offered to measure A1c. Program Fee: $40 individual; $55 family. Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries receive a free registration. Scholarships are also available through Penn State. Register online at http://extension.psu.edu/diabetes/events or call 724-837-1402. Deadline to register is October 17, 2014. Refunds will be provided for cancellations received by the deadline date. No refunds will be provided after the deadline.
