The Clairton School District recently announced the following upcoming Events.
Clairton City School District Announces Kindergarten Registrations
Clairton City School District has scheduled Kindergarten Registration for Thursday, March 17 and Tuesday, April 19 at Clairton Elementary School from 5 – 7 p.m. Children 5 years of age before September 1, 2016, are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2016-2017 school year. A guardian or parent should bring the following documentation with them to registration:
• Birth Certificate
• Proof of Residency (utility bill, rental agreement, tax bill, etc.)
• Immunization Records: – Four (4) doses of Diptheria Tetanus Pertusis (DPT or DT) – one being on or after the child’s fourth birthday – Three (3) doses of Polio (OPV or IPV) – Two (2) doses of Measles (MMR) – Three (3) doses of Hepatitis B – Two (2) doses of Varicella (chicken pox vaccine) or history of having the disease (first dose after their first birthday) – physician and dental reports if available.
Families with children who have not attended kindergarten who need to be registered for first grade must contact the Elementary Office by April 1, 2016 to arrange to have their child(ren) tested. Families who are unable to attend either registration should also call to make registration arrangements. Calls and questions may be directed to 412-233-9200, ext. 1050.
Clairton’s NHS Plans Spring Blood Drive
Clairton High School's Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) announces their annual spring blood drive will be held on March 14 from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. In conjunction with the Central Blood Bank, Clairton High School and the NHS sponsor two blood drives per year. Not only do the blood drives help the entire area, but students also have the opportunity to earn a scholarship. 16th Annual Parent Workshop Planned for March 9
