Mon Valley CTC SkillsUSA students attended the District 9 Fall Leadership Training at Seven Springs Mountain Resort November 4-6, 2015.

There were 26 students from MVCTC among the 350 that attended. The group was led by their Conference Officer Sergent at Arms, Jessica Weiss, a senior in the cosmetology program.

While at the conference, the students had various leadership training workshops to prepare them for leadership in workforce. Mon Valley left the conference with a lot to be proud of - the students showed the rest of the district who had the most spirit by bringing home the 2015 Fall Leadership Spirit Award. They also placed in various competitions.

This leadership team made a bet with the administration that they would do the whip/nae nae in front of the entire student body when they won the overall award. Mr. Hennehan, director, and Mr. Lucia, prinicpal, danced their hearts out on Friday, November 13 during an assembly to hold up their end of the deal.

The SkillsUSA students are now preparing themselves for the district competitions, which will be held at Somerset CTC in December.
