Congratulations to AJ Putignano, this year’s recipient of the Alex Danscak Memorial Scholarship!

The Alex Danscak Memorial Scholarship was started in 2015 by his parents, John and Barbara, and the Thomas Jefferson football program. Danscak was a TJ football player from 2007-10, and in September 2013, he passed away of natural causes at the age of 21. To apply for the scholarship, senior football players must write an anonymous essay about what the experience of playing football has meant to them. The Danscak family then chooses the essay that best honors their son’s memory.
