Rev. Dr. Gary L. Hughes celebrated his first Pastoral Anniversary as Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Library, on Sunday, February 23.

Rev. Dr. Hughes was elected as Senior Pastor in November 2018, and was installed as Senior Pastor in February 2019. During his first year as pastor-elect, Rev. Dr. Hughes has become acquainted with the Mt. Zion members, the community of South Park, and church membership has increased.

Rev. Dr. Hughes, a native of Pittsburgh, accepted his call to the ministry in 1997. For 11 years, he served as Associate Minister at Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William H. Curtis, Senior Pastor at Mount Ararat Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Curtis was the preacher for the afternoon worship service on Feb. 23. The community choir comprised of singers from South Park, Bethel Park, Finleyville and surrounding areas rendered the music.
