Carroll Township Board of Supervisors approved two separate facility requests at the May 3 monthly meeting, subject to recommendations by the Carroll Township Planning Commission.
The Highway 88 Self-Storage Facility Site Plan was approved subject to the following:
- Adequate lighting
- Fire Department access via coded touch pad
- Obtain permit for optional office or additional construction of two storage buildings.
- Obtain Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) from PennDOT.
- Twenty-five foot access as required by PennDOT.
- Installation of a holding tank for sewage service, as required for office space.
- Review of storm water discharge by township engineers.
The T The Board also approved Pennsylvania Mentor Conditional Use Request for a property located at 1219 Country Club Road subject to the follofollwing:
- Housing for maximum of two disabled individuals.
- Twenty-four/seven supervision of the residents (three eight-hour shifts).
- Obtain a Certificate of Occupancy.
In other business:
- The Supervisors opened and read Requests for Proposals for the 2016 Paving Project, accepting the lowest bidder of Victor Paving, at a cost of $104,350.40 for 1200 ton. Two hundred tons of the material will be used to pave the area surrounding the Municipal Building.
- The Board appointed James Brletich, 202 Maple Ave., Monongahela, to the Carroll Township Planning Commission, term set to expire on January 1, 2019.
- The Board appointed Kenneth Wilson, 15 Carroll Way, Monongahela, to the Carroll Township Planning Commission as the alternate member, term set to expire on January 1, 2020.
- The Board approved the proposed revisions to the Carroll Township Code of Ordinances, Ordinance 2014-2, Chapter 225 Subdivision and Land Development to add the township engineer’s signature of approval and the township supervisors’ waiver for minor subdivisions as recommended by the Carroll Township Planning Commission.
