The Mon Valley Alliance (MVA) was formed through the consolidation of the Mon Valley Progress Council (MVPC) and the Middle Monongahela Industrial Development Association (MMIDA). Its mission is to be the leading advocacy organization promoting and marketing economic development and job creation for the Mon Valley.

As a follow up to the March 2016 MVPC and MMIDA consolidation announcement, the Mon Valley Alliance held a launch party and reception at The Willow Room in Belle Vernon. The evening included the unveiling of the MVA logo and branding, an image video, the introduction of the new board of directors, and to further communication, its mission and vision. The Willow Room was at near-capacity with more than 270 business leaders, political leaders, community leaders, regional media and other interested constituents in attendance.

“We are excited about the mission of the Mon Valley Alliance and our opportunity to become one of the leading organizations in our region creating economic development and jobs for the Mon Valley communities,” said John Easoz, MVA Chairman.

Sometimes a change in perspective leads to a new reality. The MVA logo, branding and image video are all part of the mission to advocate and have a strong voice for our communities. “The MVA image video showcases our regions many assets and recognizes the Mon Valley as a great place to live, work and play,” said John LaCarte, MVA Vice Chairman.

The evening also included the presentation of “The Frank Irey Join in Progress Award” to the Turnpike Commission and the honoring of Ted Harhai and Pete Daley on their retirement from the state legislature.
