New Eagle Borough Council appointed a new member to Council at their February 4 monthly meeting. Resident Dennis Walters was appointed to fill the two-year position. Council voted for Walters after briefly interviewing Walters and two other candidates. A third candidate was not in attendance at the meeting.

Also at the meeting, newly-elected Council members Tonya Chaney and Saundra Bobnar asked for approval to study and develop a revitalization plan for the Maple Avenue ballfield. The area currently is partially unused and is in disrepair, according to Council, who approved the motion to develop a plan and seek potential funding through grant money for the project.
