Carroll Twp. Receives a hefty donatiop from EQT

Carroll Township Board of Supervisors announced at the February 7 monthly meeting that they had received a $30,000 check from the natural gas drilling company that is currently working throughout western Pennsylvania and Washington County as part of the company’s continued efforts to be a good neighbor to the community.

According to the Board, EQT has been responsive to community complaints relating to the several wells located in the township and fracking activity, which is nearing its completion.

The company has resurfaced two roads due to truck traffic and conducts a sweep of some roads four times a day to remove dust and dirt. EQT has also responded to noise complaints by installing soundproofing material around some buildings at drilling sites.

In other business, the Board approved the Street Lighting Agreement between the township and West Penn Power Company for the installation of LED street lights. The township is replacing incandescent bulbs with LED lights, which will be more cost effective and brighter.
