The Peters Creek Historical Society will host their annual picnic for members and guests at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 26 on the grounds of the Enoch Wright House, 815 Venetia Road, Venetia, PA.

The Wright House attained State and National Register designation in 2007 and serves as the headquarters of the Peters Creek Historical Society. Preservation of local history is the focus of the society and the Wright House, a repository of living history in period rooms, artifacts and a mining room that promotes interest and education of area mining.

Tours of the house, re-enactments and social functions like the annual “Soup and Stroll” are public invitations to visit the house, the log cabin and the gardens tended to by members of the Giant Oaks Garden Club. For further information, call 724-746-3203.
