The Peters Township Public Library and Memorial Park Post 764 VFW are partnering to host a ‘72nd D-Day Anniversary in Normandy’ exhibit at the library on Monday, June 6 from 6:30-8:45 p.m.
The exhibit will be in the meeting room on the first floor. All are invited to visit this unique display created in honor of the veterans who were there and their families.
The exhibit will include period uniforms and personal equipment of the armies involved including German, American, British, and Canadian soldiers. These items will be displayed on life-size mannequins for maximum authenticity. A WWII-era jeep and trailer will be located in the library parking lot for viewing during this event. The artifacts, photographs, documents, and memorabilia are from private and personal collections of area veterans and their families including members of the library’s World War II discussion group.
Working together to bring this exhibit to the Peters Township Public Library are George Dvorznak, the facilitator of the library’s World War II discussion group, and members of the group, which meets at the library on the last Wednesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
