Pilots for Christ International looking for aircraft owners |
PFC has chapters all over the United States. The Western Pennsylvania Pilots for Christ chapter was formed in October 2013. They provide air transportation to those with medical needs while spreading the love of Jesus Christ. They meet monthly at the Rostraver Airport.
During a chapter meeting, as a fundraiser, they decided to work with Funds2Orgs to collect new and gently used shoes to raise money for fuel for to help with medical flights. Pilots for Christ, Western PA Chapter collected 6,475 pairs of shoes, earning $2,600 to further the PFC budget for fuel. The shoes also are sent to third world countries to benefit underprivileged people. Local churches, owners, employees and patrons of local businesses, family, neighbors and friends all aided the cause for the fund drive.
The monies earned by PFC through this fundraiser are helping provide air transportation to those with medical needs. The chapter’s work has begun as they recently supported the transportation of a New Stanton, PA resident to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia, PA. This support was made possible because of the generosity within our community.
Right now, our chapter has funds for fuel, but there are few aircraft owners to fly the missions. We are looking for aircraft owners who are willing to serve others by flying their airplanes to help those in need. Aircraft ownership to join our chapter is not required; just a heart willing to serve.
